Hot on the heels of our very first bar event at Munchies we had the pleasure of being invited to serve at Rian and Ben's wedding.
It was great to be able to sit down with these guys way before the event to talk through the types of drinks they thought would go down well with their guests. At the same we were allowed the flexibility and creativity to take their thoughts and turn them into a bar menu that would effectively cater for all on the day.
Arriving on the day of the wedding, a bright summer Saturday in the middle of July, the first thing we noticed was that the venue, a walled vineyard, was very cleverly transformed into a luxurious, intimate venue. The couple had very cleverly weaved their ideas into the vineyard with their clever use of lighting, decorations and props.
With a main teepee where guests could drink, dine and dance the day and night away, hay bales dotted around for chilling out on, dressing up for those who wanted to create those unique wedding snaps and us under an additional marquee, we braced ourselves for what was to come.
After the ceremony and a celebratory glass (or 2) of bubbles we were pressed into action, something that didn't stop until that last drop of 8 Elements Spiced Rum had been poured at 12:30am the following morning.
It's fair to say our stock levels were a lot lower than when we turned up that morning but everyone looked like they had a great time partying and celebrating with the happy couple and it was a privilege to be allowed to be a part of that.
Yes, it was a long day but it was a great day and we wish Rian and Ben all the happiness in the world and thank them for inviting us to help celebrate their special occasion.
